We are currently seeking a Architectural Services Leader to join our team as a member of our growing Western Washington division.

You’re great at:


Promotes and supports a unified Energy and Facility Solutions-wide focus on collective achievement of design objectives.
Defines and communicates how success will be measured for design service projects.
Ensures that timely architectural project design reviews are held.
Coordinates delivery of regional and project design services.
Reports progress against established design service project metrics.
Balances design resources across all regions.
Assess the costs and benefits of standardization in the delivery of design services across McKinstry’s regional markets.
Creates, analyzes and negotiates design fee proposals as required.
Team Management

Creates and leads a multiple-office team of designers and engineers.
Participates in recruitment, development and retaining employees.
Assesses and catalogs regional design competencies.
Reviews current projects and work backlog; recommends adjustments in current staffing levels and assignments as necessary and calculate future staffing requirements.
Manages the coordination of internal and external designers and engineers.Advises and leads oversight of regional and project sub-consultant relationships.

Serves as the single corporate point of contact for all regions on strategy, process, procurement, and resource issues related to design.
Establishes communication protocols, processes and standards.
Communicates regularly with McKinstry partner departments regarding project activities.
Serves as liaison between the Director of Engineering, the Seattle Design/Build Engineering team, and the Energy and Facility Solutions design team.
Communicates regularly with BUL, project management, sales and estimating, accounting and purchasing departments regarding coordination of effort on projects.
Ensures that design service strategies and decisions are communicated timely and accurately to members of the multiple-office design team.

What we would like to see from you:

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, and Outlook required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
Working knowledge of applicable local, county, state and federal jurisdictional codes and standards required.
Understanding of ASHRAE standard design practices and specific facility guidelines required.
BA/BS degree in engineering or architecture or equivalent work experience required.
P.E. license or licensure in architecture required; AIA membership preferred for latter.
Fifteen (15) years direct experience managing multiple disciplines on complicated projects required.
LEED AP preferred.
