Architect / Designer

Seattle, WA

We’re looking for an architect to join our design team and grow into a leadership position.

CTA has a history as a successful design-build firm but we have recently transitioned into an all design firm.  Our extensive construction experience informs our designs to create pragmatic yet beautiful forms and spaces for our clients.  Our projects have been published nationally and received local recognition from both the community and our peers.  We specialize in single family projects, both new and remodel, and remain active in our projects from inception through move-in.

Check out our website blog to see what we’re doing now!

We seek another designer who is eager for growth opportunities. We are a small family friendly firm; we foster office camaraderie in a studio environment; we encourage personal development and an engagement in educational and community interests outside the office:  in addition to serving on local neighborhood design committees, our staff are active in the AIA, Architects Without Borders, and the Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board.

A strong candidate will have:

A professional degree in Architecture, either B. Arch. or M. Arch. is required.
Licensing is desirable.
Experience & skill to take residential projects, whether new construction or remodeling, from pre-design through schematics and permitting, including interiors, construction documents, specifications and construction contract administration.
Residential interior design experience highly desirable – all our projects have interiors!
A working knowledge of wood frame construction, local codes and permitting processes.
ArchiCAD experience preferred; if not, willingness and ability to quickly learn ArchiCAD.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Confidence and interest to work independently on your projects;  3+ years in an office environment preferred.
Ease in interpersonal relationships with clients, contractors, reviewers, and office staff.
Sense of humor & friendliness, AND a level of personal motivation which also includes helping in various other office endeavors.
We are located in a great spot in Fremont – in a funky older building with a deck & big views of the city, right on Lake Union and adjacent to the Burke Gilman trail.  Easily accessible by car, bike, walking, or bus.

Benefits include:

Competitive pay
Paid time off (PTO), paid sick/personal leave, along with paid holidays.
