Working closely in conjunction with the Project Architect, the BIM Job Captain will coordinate organization and management of BIM production efforts on one or more projects. The BIM Job Captain will be responsible for authoring, developing, troubleshooting and keeping up-to-date a detailed, accurate virtual Revit building model for one or more projects. Production teams typically consist of a small team of architects and designers. Job Responsibilities: •Responsible for authoring, developing, troubleshooting and keeping up-to-date a detailed, accurate virtual architectural building information model for one or more projects utilizing the Autodesk Revit Building Design 2014 or 2015 platform. •Working closely in conjunction with the Project Architect, the BIM Job Captain will coordinate organization and management of BIM production efforts on one or more projects. This will include building geometry modeling and documentation during Schematic, Design Development and Construction Document Phases, as well as coordination of BIM efforts with other design team members, including internal and external disciplines and consultants, contractors and owners. •Use the appropriate features of Revit and Navisworks to detect and resolve clashes between building components when required on projects. •With limited direction from a team project architect, apply sufficient knowledge of building construction practices and exterior envelope design as well as interior construction to produce construction document details using Revit detail views and detail components. •Use the annotation and scheduling features of Revit to produce and modify intelligent keynotes, door schedules, finish schedules, and window schedules. •Produce and edit Revit families. •Primary responsibility for management and coordination of exchange of BIM data among all design team members using Newforma or other Project Information Management tool as required by projects. •Comfortably multi-task between hands-on Revit modeling, small team leadership, and interdisciplinary coordination tasks, as required, on a daily basis. •Manage multiple projects and deadlines and communicate effectively with project teams and project management regarding efforts and expectations.
•Bachelor's degree preferred. •LEED Accredited preferred. •Certification as an Autodesk Revit Professional User is a plus. •2 years Significant Revit production experience on large scale commercial projects •Minimum 2 years' experience in the A/E industry preferred. •Minimum 2 years' experience in using Revit Architecture in an architectural practice. •Fluent with standard design firm software tools including MS Office tools •Excellent written and oral communication skills. •Knowledge of integration of other 2D and 3D modeling data into Revit (Rhino, ACAD, Sketchup, etc.) and use of Revit to produce project visualization is a plus. •Positive, proactive approach
