The San Francisco office is looking for an Entry Level Architect to join our team. Our practices offer local, national and international projects of all sizes including opportunities with our other offices. We are seeking a talented individual who is committed to design excellence, who thrives in an environment of collaboration and who demonstrates a high degree of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.

Working with us, you will:

Perform specific/limited portions of architectural assignments under direct supervision.
Document changes to architectural drawings as instructed.
Consult with manufacturers, researches and evaluates materials.
Assist in construction administration including responding to RFI’s, preparing sketches and addendum’s (CCD’s), visiting the construction site to gather information and/or preparing a punch list.
Design portions of projects under direct supervision.
Contribute proactively to the project team.
Receive and follow directions for project assignments.
Manage own time based on directions given.
Create graphics and researches information for inclusion in marketing proposals and materials.
Join and attend local professional association events/educational sessions.
An ideal candidate has:

1-4 years of experience with a professional degree in Architecture
LEED AP or LEED BD+C or LEED GA accreditation preferred.
Eligibility to take the Architectural Registration Examination (ARE) within a few years.
On-the-job experience using Revit to produce construction documents.
High proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Photoshop, Illustrator and In-Design programs. 
Ability to contribute to and participate in a team environment.
Ability to communicate ideas well both graphically and verbally.
SmithGroupJJR offers competitive compensation and an excellent benefit package, including 401(k) and continuing educational reimbursement. We offer 3 weeks of paid time off within the first year of employment, with the option of purchasing additional time off, and pay for 8 federal holidays. We also offer an alternative work schedule that provides employees with an additional 15 days off per year (usually Fridays) to help with work/life balance.
