Description & Details Andrew Mann Architecture is seeking a Junior Designer with one to three years of work experience and some exposure to custom residential design. A well-rounded, enthusiastic, motivated person who would like to participate in a collaborative, creative work environment will thrive in this position. The well-respected firm specializes in the design of high-end custom residential architecture. The main responsibilities for the position shall include participation in the development of single family residential projects from the schematic design phase through construction administration. This will require working with the project team on the development of design ideas, communication with clients, coordination of consultants, research of local codes, production of construction documents, guidance of projects through the approvals process and involvement in the resolution of issues that arise during construction.  

Candidate must be a creative problem-solver, be able to work independently and to balance the responsibilities of multiple projects at the same time. Applicant should have strong design skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience should include the design, documentation and construction administration of wood-frame construction residential buildings, plus some understanding of the California Building Code. The office works in Revit; familiarity with it or other BIM software is ideal.  

Candidate’s background should include at least one year of work experience and a master’s degree or bachelor’s degree of architecture. The firm provides competitive compensation and a generous employee benefits program including health insurance and a 401(k) retirement plan.
