Herman Coliver Locus Architecture
Herman Coliver Locus Architecture is known as a practice that consistently solves complex design problems in imaginative and delightful ways. The practice focuses on an unusual combination of building types, namely: very low-income housing on the one hand, and sacred spaces (with their attendant social, educational and administrative uses) on the other. it works with a variety of public and private, primarily non-profit clients, oftentimes on challenging sites with unconventional programs. Its many awards and community commendations reflect the quality of design that consistently defines the character of the studio.
Now, we hope to find a very talented person who can bring her/his 3-5 years of experience to bear on a number of exciting new projects. Presently, the 14-person firm is working on 5 large, low-income, supportive housing developments, several sanctuaries in both the Bay Area and Los Angeles, a mixed-use, retail/educational/residential community center in Chinatown and assorted other civic spaces.
