EHDD, a national leader in architecture, interior design, urban planning and sustainability is seeking an energetic, creative and self-motivated individual to expand our practice’s relationships and work in the Bay Area and beyond. The ideal candidate must have a passion for working in a creative environment, superior communication skills and proven leadership abilities.
As a Project Architect, your role is to work in close coordination with the Design Principal to develop the design direction for projects of all sizes and levels of complexity. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation and design abilities. The Project Architect must also provide technical leadership and documentation coordination for projects of all sizes and levels of complexity.
What You Will Do:
Understand and assess overall project goals as they relate to client values including attention to limitations of design budget and schedule.
Evaluate client project requirements and stablish design alternatives based on site and code requirements.
Develop technical details and coordinate with consultants and contractors in schematic and design development phases.
Develop drawings and details on various projects while applying broad knowledge of principles of sustainable design and construction
Direct and coordinate production of schematic, design development and construction documents in collaboration with Project Manager
Professional degree in Architecture, Design or related field.
8+ years’ experience in a design office [Architectural office preferred]
Proven excellence in design of multiple project types
Strong presentation skills
Ability to lead charrettes and workshops with clients to build consensus around the design
Strong sketching, graphic, 3D modeling and visualization skills are required.
Possess problem solving and creative/innovative thinking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Fluency with Revit, AutoCAD and other 3D modeling software [Rhino/3DS Max]
Strong knowledge of sustainable design principles and LEED accreditation are a plus
