Tobin | Parnes Design (TPD) is a multi-faceted and growing mid-sized firm with award winning work focused on collaborative and innovative design.  We’re currently looking to grow our team with someone who is a creative problem solver, eager to learn, and ready to take on more responsibility.  

They must be interested in all aspects of the firm’s responsibilities - developing projects from inception through construction, meeting with clients, construction management as well as continuing their own professional development through licensure and continuing education.  And as an integral part of our team, they also will have the opportunity to develop and manage project budgets, oversee schedules, write proposals, and contribute to office-wide best practice standards.

Architect / Project Designer Candidate Skill Requirements:

Responsibilities include:  

Responsible for independently creating, executing, and managing design vision of all plans, elevations, and details on small projects.
Ability to successfully work as part of a team to carry out design vision and execution of all design plans, elevations, and details on larger projects.
Preparation and execution of design and construction documents and interaction with consultants for obtaining all required permits.
Management of multiple projects.
Management of multiple aspects of client and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, and other project consultants.
Applying design and construction solving skills in coordination with contractors, designers and consultants.
Provide construction administration services and document site reviews.

Bachelor’s or Master’s Architecture degree.
At least (3-5) years of professional experience in a U.S. architecture firm.
Excellent communication, organizational, and management skills.
Experience resolving both technical and design related issues.
General understanding of how buildings are constructed and ability to create succinct and thorough technical documents.
General knowledge and experience with building codes, standards and building structure.
Ability to work on multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
Self-starter and independent problem-solver.
Proficiency in AutoCad and Adobe Creative Suite. Revit and various modeling/rendering software a plus.
