We are looking for a Project Architect to join our growing office. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and talented architect with strong leadership qualities. The primary role will be to plan, organize, and manage the efforts of the design and production team and to provide technical leadership relating to the production of quality contract documents based on larger design goals and job specific requirements. Candidates with experience working on performing arts projects are preferable. Candidates must be located in the New York City metropolitan area.
The Project Architect will be expected to:
Supervise and manage the completion of all design phases on schedule and within budget.
Manage the activities of a design and production team on a daily basis.
Deliver high quality presentation, design drawings and construction documents that can be easily interpreted by government agencies and easily utilized by contractors.
Manage client relationships in a manner that leads to satisfaction, exceptional design, and repeat business.
Coordinate effectively with technical consultants including but not limited to: structural engineers, MEP engineers, civil engineers, architectural lighting designers, acoustical consultants, theatrical consultants and landscape architects.
Minimum qualifications include:
Professional degree in architecture; professional registration.
Minimum 8-12 years of experience in architecture.
Extensive knowledge of architectural detailing, current construction standards, and building systems.
Understanding of architectural design and related fields.
Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit and other graphic and business software and their application in development of design through construction document packages.
Knowledge of building codes.
The ability to successfully complete permitting
Experience with construction administration
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Applicants who have worked at small to medium avant-garde design studios and on medium to large scale projects will receive favorable review. Preservation, rehabilitation, and cultural project experience is a plus
