Robert Elliott Leslie Architecture,
RELA is a small, established architecture firm, expanding in New York’s Financial District. Our open and informal culture values creativity, collegiality and a can-do spirit. We’re looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Junior Designer to work on multi-family residential and office projects on a temporary basis, for three to six months.
The successful candidate should demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills, a curious mind, a talent for design and an analytical approach to solving problems. Good work habits, personal integrity, a commitment to excellence and the ability to remain focused and organized while working on multiple projects could lead to permanent employment.
Responsibilities include architectural detailing, producing well-coordinated drawing sets and project manuals, programming and client presentations.
Work on all phases of design and contract administration from concept through completion
Survey and document field conditions
Assist in the production of architectural drawings, details and specifications
Research building typologies, construction materials and finishes
Create, develop, render and model design concepts
Prepare project deliverables and presentations
Education & Experience
Candidates must have previous experience in an architecture, engineering or design firm, preferably including architectural detailing, drafting and programming on one or more built projects.
Professional degree in Architecture, Engineering or Interior Design from an accredited school
2 to 3 years professional experience including contract administration
The successful candidate will be highly organized, enthusiastic, self-motivated and meet or exceed the following:
Proven technical detailing and excellent AutoCAD skills
Strong conceptual and design skills
Must speak and write English fluently; additional languages are a plus
Excellent written, oral, presentation and collaborative skills
Competent SketchUp, Office and Adobe software skills
Revit, InDesign, Rhino, 3ds Max and Mac OS experience is a plus
