Woods Bagot is expanding its New York practice and seeking to identify a candidate for Construction Administration on local projects


Has a working knowledge of New York Codes and has experience working directly with Building Officials and Plan reviews.    
Develops a relationship with the contractor and the Client during construction to resolve issues in a timely fashion
Prepares and reviews Addenda, Bulletins, Change Orders, Field Observation Reports, Applications for Payments, Construction Documents, Shop Drawings, and materials for compliance with design intent and program requirements. Respond to RFIs in a timely manner.
Develops design drawings, such as plans, sections, elevations and models using hand drawings as well as CAD and Revit.
Assist with Bidding and Negotiation phase
Familiarity with project close-out procedures. Review ‘For Record’ documents and other post-construction submittals
Documents any program or scope changes
Assists in review of Applications for Payment. Review change order requests from the CM/GC and make recommendations to the Owner concerning appropriateness of request.
Maintain the contract administration process with emphasis on efficiency, timeliness, quality assurance and risk management.
Coordinate with the architecture/engineering team to ensure project completion is in compliance with contract documents and specifications, and meets all regulatory requirements and building codes.
Trouble-shoot field conditions and issue construction sketches to resolve issues quickly.
Makes appropriate value judgments with respect to field corrective work that supports the design concept and performance goals of the project

Completion of a professional architectural degree program. 
Ten or more years of experience and progressive responsibilities in all phases of architecture and substantial experience in the Construction Administration Phase of projects. Minimum 3 completed projects as Construction Administrator.
Expertise in AutoCAD, Excel and Adobe. Revit experience preferred.  
Demonstrated knowledge of architectural design, detailing, building materials, building codes, construction techniques, and costs.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Familiar with Blue Beam and electronic Contract Administration software. Knowledgeable in Newforma or other Document Management Software
Problem solver, be proactive in anticipating all aspects of CA
Licensed Architects preferred.
