Peter Pennoyer Architects is seeking a Designer with at least 5 years of experience to join one of the firm's highly skilled and technically innovative teams. PPA is an award-winning practice in traditional architecture, recognized as a leader in classicism and historic preservation. Our work ranges from unique high-end houses and apartments to award-winning institutional and development projects. A successful applicant will demonstrate willingness to engage in a collaborative and creative environment, and will show evidence that they can consistently produce work of a very high quality.

Responsibilities will include:

Take responsibility for architectural design work at varying scales to assist renovation and new construction projects

Analyze existing conditions, conduct zoning & code research, develop program and propose design solutions

Prepare design concepts and generate compelling presentation materials

Direct the production team, provide any required design input, and support the production efforts

Work alongside the Partner-in-Charge and the Project Manager to advance the design concepts

Collaborate with consultants and other professionals outside the firm

Participate in new technology including 3D printing, BIM workflow, and VR visualization

Engage with clients and assist the team's efforts through completion of intensive and high quality projects.

Candidates should have the following experience and qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in architecture

Familiarity and working knowledge of classical architecture, enthusiasm for traditional design of varying types

Minimum 5 years of experience to include all phases of architectural delivery

Working knowledge of common construction types and building technology

Well-rounded experience with projects in high-end residential, multi-family, high-rise, retail, and institutional

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Suite is required

Proficiency in Revit is a very strong plus for this candidate

Familiarity with 3DS Max, Lumion and Rhino is a plus

Ability to organize, establish priorities, and self-manage
