Douglas Elliman Development Marketing (DEDM) is seeking a Planning & Design Associate. This role offers rare exposure to innovative leadership, exceptional development professionals, real estate visionaries and participation in the predevelopment of residential and mixed-use new developments. 

Douglas Elliman’s multidisciplinary expertise applies in-house design knowledge to elevate development strategy.  With cultivated intelligence based on current and pipeline inventory, tailored analytics are used to optimize luxury residential value. Collaborating with renowned international developers, architects and interior designers, the Planning & Design department is integral to conceiving unique, marketable assets. 

Position Summary

Planning & Design team member: support Douglas Elliman Development Marketing projects in various capacities (design, research, marketing, project management, administration).

Key External Relationships

Industry vendors (kitchen, bathroom, millwork, FF&E), designers, publications, media partners, creative agencies, technology partners, etc.

Key Responsibilities

Account Management (25%)

Substantial, strategic project management
Support design positioning initiatives
Annotate floorplan critique
Ensure competitive product differentiation, product innovation and brand uniqueness
Liaise with other DEDM teams (Marketing, Research, Sales) in multi-disciplinary, project related tasks
Prepare and coordinate client deliverables
Research (50%)

Maintain and expand Planning & Design databases
Benchmark comparable properties
Monitor industry and competitive landscape to identify emerging trends
Shadow DEDM team members to gain instrumental exposure to various disciplines within the development process
Ongoing Offering Plan immersion
Planning & Design Department Strategy (15%)

Assist in development of DEDM internal initiatives and best practices
Establish comprehensive quality control standards
Trouble-shoot issues and unexploited opportunities
Strategic partnerships outreach
New Business Development (10%)

Site analysis, development feasibility assessment
Case study due diligence
Presentation layout

Refined graphic design interest
Expert proficiency in MS Office (Excel modeling, in particular), Adobe CS Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), AutoCAD, 3-D modeling programs
Basic proficiency in Tableau and database design

Bachelor’s degree (Major or Concentration in Architecture)
Masters degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Real Estate Development strongly preferred
Two to three years minimum design experience
Familiarity with New York City luxury residential market
Luxury residential, mixed-use, and/or hospitality experience preferred
