NANDINEE PHOOKAN ARCHITECTS (NPA) is a full-service architectural firm based in Dumbo, Brooklyn. The firm's projects range from planning and feasibility studies to architecture and interior design of residential, commercial, cultural, community and government projects. NPA is seeking a motivated, organized and creative Project Architect/Manager to join its team. Working directly under the Principals of the firm, the successful candidate would be responsible for the development of design and construction documents from conceptual sketches/ schematic drawings and coordination with consultants.  


Manage junior team members in the design and production of architectural documents. Set up drawing sets and organize construction drawings and specifications based on NPA standards. Coordinate with engineers and other consultants. Resolve technical/design issues and develop details based on NPA standards. Assist with Bid and Negotiation Provide Construction Administration: attend project meetings, provide meeting minutes and observation reports; process Shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, process Change Orders and Applications for Payment; develop Punchlist and Project closeout documents. Desired Skills:  

5 - 7 years of experience in all phases of architectural design and documents as well as construction administration. B Arch degree from a 5 year accredited Architectural Program or a M Arch degree. New York state Architectural license preferred. Knowledge of Zoning and Building codes, Energy codes and Accessibility requirements. Proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD, with experience in construction documents/ detailing. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign required. Working knowledge/ familiarity with 3-D modeling & rendering programs (Rhino/ Autodesk 3ds Max) desirable. Excellent communication and management skills. Must be a team player with a good attitude and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines when necessary. Must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Award winning New City firm specializing in high-end homes seeks experienced team member with professional architecture degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in high-end residential architecture. The project architect is responsible for all aspects of projects either on their own or under the guidance of a Project Manager including, design development, drawing coordination, drawing and project file control, scheduling, shop drawing review, coordination of structural, mechanical and other systems, and detail development. Knowledge of traditional details is required.
