Primary Responsibilities
HDR is currently in need of a Project Design Coordinator, Transit for our Los Angeles CA Transportation
Architecture location. Their duties will include the following: supporting design principals to create
exceptional design strategies for stations, bridges, urban spaces, and other civic building types in the
transportation and infrastructure arenas. The designer will be involved with the full-range of a project’s
development, beginning with programming, design development, construction detailing and assisting
during construction. The candidate must be able to work independently in the creation of a design
assignments with only general instruction from the Project Architect or Project Manager. The role is highly
collaborative entailing close coordination with engineering teams in structures, building systems, and
rail/bus/highway design. The position will also offer an opportunity to work directly with owners and thirdparty
consultants. The work will include creation of models (digital and physical), concept renderings,
construction documents, specifications, code analysis, and other technical reports.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Architecture. 2+ years professional experience preparing master plans,
site plans, details specifications and construction documents is preferred. Experience or interest in
Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning/ Design, and large transportation infrastructure projects is
essential. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint), AutoCAD, Revit, or
Microstation, and 2D drawing experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain professional registration and experience and/or interest
in transportation architecture, urban design, and sustainable design/LEED certification desired but not
required. Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, 3D Max, and Rhino is preferred.
