Morehouse MacDonald and Associates, Inc., an award-winning architecture, and interiors practice operating nationally and internationally for private clients is seeking intern architects interested in high-end, custom residential architecture for full-time employment.

Understand the design project
Assist the project leader in developing required drawings, models, images and other documents relating to the design
Take responsibility, where required by the project leader, for specific areas of the design and project development
Attend, where required, project design and construction stage team meetings, record meeting minutes, and assist the project leader with required follow-through tasks
Assist with necessary materials research, construction systems, and any necessary project informational requirements
Develop knowledge and experience in contract construction drawings and specifications; advance skills in CAD/3D systems pertinent to this objective
Seek and record evidence of, continuing professional development as required by NCARB’s Intern Development Program (IDP)
Contribute and otherwise assist, as required

Qualities and Skills Required:

Legally able to work in the United States
Bachelor of Architecture (BArch), Bachelor of Science (BS) in Architectural Studies (Or, candidate for these degrees)
Able to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities
Ability to take initiative in response to direction, instruction or criticism
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently
Candidate must be able to take direction from the project leader and manage assignments in an organized and efficient manner
Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally
Flexible attitude and open-minded to learning new methodology, digital tools, and systems new to you
Excellent organizational skills
Proficiency in a CAD or BIM application (min. 1-year experience)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, or Google Documents (min. 1-year experience)
Ability to sketch and diagram by hand
Excellent communication skills: written and verbal


1-2 years experience in an architecture firm, post-BArch. or BS in Architecture degree.
Experience using Nemetschek Vectorworks Architect CAD/BIM software
Experience using SketchUp, Rhino, formZ or other 3D modeling software, including renderers
Experience using online project collaboration and document management software (eg: Basecamp)
Experience using a cloud-based CDE (common data environment) application (eg: Procore, Aconex, Bluebeam Studio)
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite software (eg: Photoshop, InDesign)
Experience with Mac OS X platform
