Austin Architects’ office is in a renovated historic Greek revival house on Observatory Hill in Cambridge, near Harvard Square. Our work is varied, reflecting interests in a broad range of project types, from large scale master plans to new buildings, and complex renovations to detailed interiors. Our clients are similarly diverse, from colleges and universities, schools, civic, non-profit and corporate clients, to individuals with specific needs for their business and homes. Right now, we are working on a campus plan for an independent school, offices for an environmental advocacy organization, a reconfiguration of a large academic library, an historic wood frame renovation, athletic facilities, and a private house renovation. We are looking for an architect / designer with a BArch 5-year or a MArch 3-year degree and 3 plus years of experience, preferably in all phases of design from conceptual planning through detailed documentation and construction administration. Candidates should be either registered, or in the process of becoming registered. Candidate must possess: • strong design and analytical skills, informed by research and technical knowledge. • curiosity about design and technical possibilities and a drive for realizing them • proven experience realizing projects through design, documentation and construction phases • Revit and Adobe Creative Suite proficiency • strong interpersonal, presentation, and graphics abilities • good communications skills • a zest for professional growth This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic person seeking significant hands-on experience and opportunities to grow.
