The Architectural Technology group at Huckabee is responsible for the development and implementation of new digital tools and data sources that can transform educational design. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Computational Designer to work with the Architectural Technology team. This role will aid in the development of new digital and data-centric design methodologies, tools, and techniques with a focus on innovation and client value.

Develop strategic initiatives focused on implementing computation design within project teams
Research emerging technologies related to data capture, analysis and computation
Generate computational scripts and tools to achieve interoperability between various commercial software from different vendors
Develop web-based applications for access by multiple participants in a design process including front-end UI/UX design and/or WebGL controls to utilize 3D geometry in a web browser
Help define knowledge expectations for team members
Work with the Director of Digital Practice to capture project successes
Deliver project-focused workshops and brainstorming sessions for implementing computational design concepts
Participate in key project kick off meetings to identify project opportunities for implementing new workflows
Develop computational scripts to achieve augmentations / automations of tasks typically performed by design team members to improve efficiency and automate workflows

Working knowledge of Autodesk’s Forge API
Expert level knowledge in the use of Autodesk Dynamo and Revit
Experience integrating complex datasets into the design process and digital workflow
Ability to develop for web and mobile using HTML, Javascript and Iconic
Competent in one or more text-based scripting languages including C#, Python, VB.Net, Java and Processing
Experience with Ardunio or other microcontrollers
Has experience with interactive installation technology like Max/MSP, ableton Live, TouchDesigner or vvvv
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
Passion for teaching others to understand computation tools
Experience collaborating with Architectural Design Teams
